There are hundreds of students who are learning Tabla online and doing it successfully. Over the years, I have seen Online students play Tabla equally well if not better than students who learn in 1-1 sessions. While you may miss customized learning, each course has references to common mistakes and how to identify and resolve them.
Eternity would be the right answer. Any form of music is so vast, that its study is never-ending. However, if you want to accompany a musical instrument or play on your own, 6 to 9 months with consistent practice is a good time frame to target.
There is no upper limit on age to learn Tabla. I have taught a “student” aged 73 who did not know how to play Tabla and he started accompanying with bhajans within 3 months. In fact, if you feel uncomfortable sitting in a class full of kids, you can start off online and get some confidence before you head to a local teacher.
It depends – on your end goal, on whether you practice the right way. If you want to accompany songs, then focused and accurate practice of half an hour every day for 6 to 9 months should be enough. If you want to be an expert, you would need to put at least 3-4 hours of focused practice every day. Check out the “How to Practice” sections in beginner courses to get more details.
You need to create an account before taking a course. Click on Menu Icon (Three horizontal lines) present on the top left of the Store Screen. From the opened menu, click on Login/Register button. Click on Sign Up. Enter your Email Id & Password to register for an account.
You need to create an account on the app to use the access codes. After Successful login, click on the Menu Icon present on the top left of the Store Screen. From the opened menu, click on My Courses Button. On the opened screen, click on the Gift Icon present on the Top Right of the Screen. Enter your Access Code here. Respective Course will be added to your My Courses section.
After you have purchased the Course or used the access code of the course, the course would be added to your My Course Section. Click on the Course image to start the course.
You can click on Forgot Password link to reset your password from the login screen. We will send the new password to your registered email address. Try to login with the new password.

Please check whether you are using the same email, which was used for purchasing/using the access code. Check for the course in your My Course section. If the course is still not available, please drop an email to tablatutor@gmail.com
